Young Jeezy In Exclusive VIBE.COM Interview: " I'm Going From Motivational To Aspirational"

(VIBE) Along with Young Jeezy’s forthcoming fourth solo album, the Snowman’s biographical documentary, A Hustlerz Ambition, will be released in full on Dec. 20.

The Chris Robinson-directed movie depicts the rise of the Atlanta hustler and the adversity he faced throughout his life and career. With narration by actor Samuel L. Jackson and a list of appearances from Jay-Z, Diddy, Rihanna, Drake and T.I, every intricate detail about Jeezy comes to light in the 90 minute film.

“I’m about to enter a new phase in my life. I’m going from motivational to aspirational,” Jeezy tells VIBE. “I wanted to let people know what I’ve really been through and all the obstacles I’ve overcome and why I kind of act the way I act. I am, kind of, a little standoffish with a lot of the industry sh*t.”

Jeezy hopes the documentary will help his fans understand who he really is as a person.

“Sometimes motherf**kers just don’t understand and when people don’t understand something they fear it because it’s like foreign to them, and I felt like that was the best way to get it across,” adds Jeezy.

After watching the film for the first time, Jizzle says he was also moved by the words of Diddy and Jay-Z.

“The first time I ever sat down and watched the whole documentary it just taught me a lot of things about myself,” the ATL bred rapper explains. “One thing that Puff said that I thought was crazy was ‘You know, Jeezy got to stay connected to the streets and the hood but he can’t let them bring him down’ and I was like ‘Damn you know that’s true but I never looked at it like that.’

“Another thing Jay said was “When people love you for who you are they are they’re going to accept when you grow and change and you become a bigger person” and I felt like that was true, you know. It was just a couple of key points that can you can get out of a general conversation with somebody.”

From street beefs to career threatening medical conditions, the Corporate Thug CEO has been through it all. He only hopes to continue growing and evolving as a spokesperson for the streets.

A Hustlerz Ambition will be included with the purchase of TM:103.
