Woman and Her Husband Get Tazed by Police at Wal-Mart

(Journal Times) MOUNT PLEASANT - Police had to use a Taser on a fleeing alleged shoplifter at Walmart on Monday afternoon, according to reports.

Officers were called to the store at 3049 S. Oakes Road at 1:36 p.m. by store security, who had detained two women for retail theft.

When police arrived and were approaching the security office, Deneesha Shaw, 19, of Racine, allegedly ran out of the office in an attempt to leave the store through the west doors. Officers tried to stop Shaw, but she resisted, reports said.

Police used a Taser to stop Shaw and take her into custody.

Shaw was taken to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., and was medically cleared. She was then transported to the Racine County Jail on charges of retail theft, resisting an officer and obstructing an officer.

Police said she is also being held on a felony warrant from the Racine Police Department.

Also taken into custody for party to retail theft was Angelieka Shaw, 30, of Racine.
