Tournament MVP : Ian Miller - United Faith Christian Academy (Charlotte, NC) - Class of 2010 - FSU
Ian lead his team to yet another championship at the Prep All-Stars Classic. Smooth shooting and consistent play made it easy for the dominating backcourt that UFCA has. A few highlights and a near poster dunk that would have been the dunk of the season.
Challenge MVP : Ryan Harrow - Walton HS (Marietta, GA) - Class of 2010 - NC State
Ryan Harrow is a 5 star recruit and is still underrated. An Isaiah Thomas like game Ryan Harrow is a winner and gets 30 a game with ease. He showed out in his first visit to an NC based tournament and looks to repeat next week at the GSK in Raleigh.
Surprise Player : Hanner Perea - United Faith Christian Academy - Class of 2012 - Undecided
Hanner is only a sophomore but attacks the rim with reckless abandonment. He’s tall and strong and don’t be surprised to see him atop the rankings in the class of 2012. Already becoming one of my favorite highlight players in the class of 2012.
Moment of the Tournament:
Dezmine Wells - Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, NC) - Class of 2011 - Xavier
Dezmine has been going hard all year and after some choice words from the Miller Grove head coach Dezmine decided to take the game over and let the coach know he was doing so. You can see him jawing at the coach in the video and the footage following is what happened in the 2nd half comeback to take 3rd place.
Notable: CJ Leslie - Word of God Christian Academy - Class of 2010 - Undecided
Continues to show why he’s considered a top ranked forward in the country. Using his size and athleticism to maneuver around the basket and finish high above the rim.
Defensive Player of the Tournament : Peter Jurkin - United Faith - Class of 2012 - Undecided
7 foot youngster who blocks everything. Needs to put on weight and develop a better jumper but he’s deadly around the rim and runs the floor well.
