(Daily Mail) Alex Rodriguez allegedly played in the same illegal poker ring as a string of A-list stars, it has been reported.
Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are all alleged to have been caught up in the gambling ring, which cost $100,000 to get into.
The Yankees slugger is also said to have played in a separate high-stakes game that cost $40,000 to take part in, according to Star Magazine and RadarOnline.
The $100,000 ring came to light last week after Maguire was hit with a lawsuit from a client of a convicted hedge fund manager who lost more than $300,000 of company money to the Spiderman star over several games, according to the suit.
'Initially, A-Rod came to the game and simply watched,' one source told Star.
'But once he knew what it was all about, he bought into the game. He played two or three times, I would estimate,' the source told the magazine.
Meanwhile poker player Adam Bilzerian told both Star and RadarOnline: 'I was surprised to see just how good a poker player Alex is.'
In one game within the past two years, 'A-Rod won a bunch of money,' Bilzerian added.
