Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver charged with killing a pedestrian while driving drunk.
Donte Stallworth is in some deep sh*t. The Cleveland Browns wide receiver was charged with DUI and manslaughter on Wednesday in Miami. The charge stems from an incident in which Stallworth allegedly killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes last month while driving drunk following a night of partying at a South Beach club. Reyes was reportedly waiting for the bus to commute to work at the time of the accident.
If convicted, The DUI charge which carries a six-month sentence plus fines and community service for first offenders but if the manslaughter charge sticks, Stallworth could spend up to 15 years in the clink.
Stallworth’s blood-alcohol was measured at .126, well above Florida’s legal limit of .08, according to the Los Angeles Times. Prosecutors said they will ask that he be released on $200,000 bail.
This certainly will spell the end of a mediocre career for the Browns wideout. He’s been an underachiever since his days with the Saints. I just don’t understand why when you have all the money in the world you can’t HIRE someone to drive you home.
