Mid-South Baby Dies from Blow to the Head

A Memphis couple is now facing charges following the death of an 8-month old girl.
Memphis police say Trenity Lawrence died on Friday. Police found her unconscious at a house at 3338 Winchester Place. She later died at the hospital.

Her parents, Trevelyn Lawrence and Candace Faulkner, say they were involved in a fight shortly before they noticed their daughter wasn't breathing. The medical examiner later ruled the child died from blunt force trauma to the head.

During that fight, police say Lawrence was stabbed with a screwdriver and Faulkner was hit with a lamp.

Both Lawrence and Faulkner deny hurting their daughter. They are now charged with Aggravated Child Neglect.
