Jay Z Snags A Sports Emmy

Jay-Z can add-on to his award-shelf which already includes a number of Grammys, VMAs and AMAs. Yesterday Jigga Man won a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics for his rehash of his 2009 single “Run This Town,” which aired as an opener last year’s Super Bowl between the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints.

In the clip Hov collaborated with ES Posthumus for a mash-up of Jay’s Rihanna-assisted hit mixed with a beefed up rendition of CBS’ NFL theme song. Performing while backed by an orchestra, Jay-Z played maestro, while football highlights flashed on the big screen behind him.
