Up-and-comer Freddie Gibbs is ready to make it snow.
The Gary, Ind., rapper is currently in talks to sign with Young Jeezy and his Corporate Thug Entertainment (CTE) label, with reports that the agreement is already complete and that both parties simply need to fill out paperwork to make it official.
Gibbs has made mention of the potential signing as far back as early March, when he tweeted ambiguous comments that hinted at the deal. "Power move. Checkmate," he wrote on his Twitter page. "I'm in ATL hoe," he added, referring to Jeezy's hometown.
Gangsta Gibbs has spent the last few years building up his name on the mixtape circuit. The 29-year-old, whose real name is Fredrick Tipton, struck success with his 2009 offering 'The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs,' which was followed by the critically acclaimed 'midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik' and 'Str8 Killa No Filla' tapes.
He released his debut EP, 'Str8 Killa,' in August 2010, through a joint deal between Decon Records and his Gibbs Family label.
