Accounts of what allegedly went down have begun to circulate online.
On Saturday night, NY rapper JR Writer was shot. Reports are still sketchy but word is that he was ambushed by a group of goons and was lucky to escape with his life. We have confirmed that JR is in good shape and he's expected to make a full recovery from the shooting. No word yet on who did it, or whether the streets (or police) have any suspects. The rapper has been an associate of Dipset since 2003.
Writer landed some tracks on Diplomat projects and appeared as a guest on Cam'ron's album Purple Haze. His aboveground full-length debut was supposed to hit the streets in 2005, but it took until 2006 for the ambitious History in the Making to land on the Koch label. After the fourth volume of Writer's Block, he hooked up with Babygrande for the fifth volume of the series, as well as 2008's Politics and Bullsh*t. (All Music)
