St. Louis man slain for chain

A 19-year-old Ferguson man was shot to death Sunday night in St. Louis after several men confronted him and robbed him of his gold chain, police said today.
The victim -- Terrance Mims, of the Henquin Drive -- had been shot at three times, including once in the head, police said.

Police say that Mims was walking north in the 5100 block of Riverview Drive about 8:20 p.m. Sunday when several men walked up to him, police said.

One of the men demanded Mims' gold chain that he was wearing around his neck. A second man pointed a small, black handgun at Mims, police said.

The first man then took Mims' chain and punched him in the mouth, Mims said.

The gunmen then fired three times and Mims collapsed after the third shot was fired, police said. He was hit once in the head and died at 11:33 p.m. Sunday at a local hospital.
