
Omaha, NE - Former Nebraska running back Thunder Collins faces murder charges for a shooting in central Omaha Tuesday morning. Collins was arrested Wednesday, he will appear in court for the first time Friday morning.

Timothy Thomas of Los Angeles was killed. Marshall Turner, of Los Angeles was also shot. He drove from the crime scene near 70th and Military to a motel near 72nd and Grover just after the attack and collapsed. Marshall's in critical condition at an Omaha hospital.
Douglas County Prosecutor Don Kleine tells Action 3 News the motive may be a drug deal. "I think there was a drug transaction, " Kleine says. "People bringing drugs from another location and it was a drug rip-off."

29-year-old Collins and 21-year-old Ahmad Johnson face first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and felony weapons charges.
Police also arrested Karnell Burton on suspicion of criminal homicide, attempted first-degree murder, and weapons charges
