Word has broke that Outkast member, Antwan "Big Boi" Patton has decided to part ways with longtime manager, "Big" Blue Williams. There's just one problem; nobody told Big Blue.
When the reported "exclusive" was released, my source contacted me immediately informing me that T.I.'s current manager, Jason Geter had successfully acquired Big Boi to join the Grand Hustle family placing Jason and his team in control of Big Boi's branding and career endeavors.
Mr. Geter also happens to represent T.I. as well as NYC rapper, Maino, among other stellar talent.
But, my source is also telling me that CEO and founder of Family Tree Entertainment, Blue Williams, is claiming to have had had no idea of the acquirement and is on his way back to the ATL to get sh*t straight.
Usually when artists jump from one manager to the other it's almost never a good thing. And I'd imagine that Antwan couldn't contractually walk away without notifying his management. I mean wouldn't he have to give him notice.
I don't want to speculate too much, but could a sudden change in management be part of the reason that Big Boi's new CD, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, suffered a push back?
There was a time when Blue managed the careers of Outkast, Nick Cannon, Trina and Case. But as of now, only the latter remain. Well unless you count Young Buck, too.
