First Offenders of Florida’s ‘Baggy Pants Crackdown’ Nabbed

Riviera Beach, Florida cops have been aggressively enforcing a new city ordinance targeting black folks who believe in the fashion philosophy that includes exposing one’s drawers in public….you know the baggy jeans look.

According to The Smoking Gun and a CBS 12 report, since the crackdown began last month, 11 have been ARRESTED including two are juveniles. The ordinance defines violators as those whose pants or shorts exposed between two and five inches of the individual’s undergarments. Translation: if half of your boxers are showing you’re going to jail.

According to the police reports obtained by TSG, one of the juvenile offenders reportedly cursed out the arresting officer and allegedly said “Your a cracker and ain’t got shit better to do.” First-time violators of the ordinance face a fine of up to $150. Repeat offenders could be sentenced to a maximum of 30 days in jail.
