MEMPHIS, TN -- Police say two guys wearing red bandanas kicked in an East Memphis apartment door and are accused of shooting one man and robbing two others.
Police say it happened Friday, September 05, 2008, around 3:15 a.m., at the Trails Apartments in the 3100 block of East Whispering Lane.
According to police, after the two accused home invaders kicked in the locked door, they demanded money and other items from three men inside the apartment. The victims gave them their cash, a cell phone and a set of car keys.
Police say before the two men left, they’re accused of shooting one of the victims in the hip with an AK-47 rifle.
Police tell us that the two accused home invaders drove off in a red Grand Am car. Police were able to track them down a short time later on Stout and Kirby Parkway. As they were pulling the two men over they bailed and started running. Police later found one of the suspects at the Water Grove Apartments and are still looking for the other guy with police dogs.
The 23 year-old victim that was shot was taken to the Med and has been upgraded to non-critical condition.
Police say this home invasion could possibly be gang related.
