UNDERWOOD POWERS DOC ABOUT BLACK ENTERTAINERS: Film is from actor's new Intrepid production banner.

*Blair Underwood and his production partner Tommy Morgan Jr., under their Intrepid banner, are executive producing a 90-minute documentary about black artists in the entertainment industry.

Intrepid is teaming with Associated Television International for the as-yet-untitled project, which was conceived and will be directed and co-executive produced by ATI president David McKenzie.

"My goal is to chronicle the triumphs and hardships endured by a multitude of artists, relating stories through their own voices," said McKenzie. "We hope to interview entertainers from many decades in an effort to tell a compelling story that captures the shifts in societal tolerance and awareness."

Production on the documentary begins next month. Last year, Intrepid produced "Million Dollar Christmas" for TLC.
