3 Men Accused of Raping Woman and Throwing Her, Naked, over Fence

MEMPHIS, TN – According to an affidavit, three men are accused of raping a woman, beating her and throwing her, naked, over a backyard fence.
According to the court records, the suspects told police that the victim was walking from the corner store in her neighborhood when Odie Buckhanon and Cleveland Williams tried to hire her for sex. Police say the woman tried to run away, but was caught by the men and taken behind Buckanon’s home in the 1600 block of Knox Street. Buckhanon and Williams forced the victim into a storage shed, where they raped her, stated officers in the affidavit.

Police say Vincent Wallace, a friend of the men, was sitting on the porch of Buckhanon’s home, saw what was going on and joined in the rape. After taking part, he went back to the porch of the house, said police.

According to the affidavit, investigators say the woman told Buckhanon and Williams that she was going to tell police about the rape. That is when the men beat her with a drill until she was unconscious, said police. Investigators say the men then threw the naked woman over the backyard fence of the home.

Police say Wallace asked one of the men, a short time later, what happened. Wallace then found the victim, clothed her and took her to a fire station for help.

Police say she was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Odie Buckhanon and Cleveland Williams were charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Rape.

Vincent Wallace has been charged with Aggravated Rape.
