ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A man accused of violently kidnapping a woman from a Rock Hill restaurant is in jail, according to the Horry County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities said Clinton Mason abducted his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Johnson, from a Taco Bell restaurant on Cherry Road Friday afternoon.
Deputies in Horry County arrested and booked Mason into jail early Saturday morning.
Eyewitnesses said they saw Mason drag Johnson out of the Taco Bell. She escaped from him and ran back to the restaurant, but witnesses said they heard yelling coming from one of the restrooms, and saw Mason drag her out again by her hair and forced her into a car.
Police said they found Johnson near Myrtle Beach about six hours after the abduction.
Deputies said Johnson had filed a police report earlier this week, accusing Mason of sending threatening text messages.
