KSDK -- An employee of a Town and Country store conspired with an armed robbery suspect to hold up a Linens & Things more than a week ago, police said.
According to Captain Gary Hoelzer, a spokesman for the Town and Country Police Department, the robbery took place on July 28 around 9 p.m., in the 13000 block of Manchester Road. The suspect approached an employee outside the business around closing time and demanded money. He stole an undetermined amount of cash and fled on foot. The suspect fired one shot during the robbery, but no one was injured.
Detectives were able to identify a red, four-door Dodge Charger as the suspect's vehicle, Hoelzer said. A St. Louis County detective told Town and Country authorities of a person who had driven a similar vehicle in a recent incident in the county.
Authorities determined that the Linens & Thing employee, 18-year-old Darreon A. Peal, had conspired with the gunman, identified as 19-year-old Otis Frazier, to commit the robbery in the first place.
Hoelzer said police arrested Peal on Tuesday. He's been charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He's being held on $250,000 bond.
Frazier, the alleged gunman, remains on the loose, Hoelzer said. He was last seen driving the red Dodge Charger, with Missouri plate 1CP-16F. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
