Jive Records and their sexy R&B goddess, Ciara are poised to release her third project, “Fantasy Ride,” in September. But don’t be surprised when you get your CD in the mail from Amazon. The marketing team over at Jive has announced that they will spread the album spread across three separately packaged discs, sold as a unit, each with five to six joints each featuring a different theme.
Here’s the breakdown:
Disc 1: “Groove City” to feature sensual joints like her popular “Promise”
Disc 2: “Crunktown” will showcase tracks like Ciara’s 2004 breakout single “Goodies”
Disc 3: “Kingdom of Dance” will feature up tempo/ Ciara dance cuts.
Sounds like a very interesting packaging and marketing concept. The eye-catching and unusual packaging would probably be more successful at generating impulse buys if we actually still had music stores but I’m sure it’ll do well in Best Buy. Look for her first single in June. I’m sure our resident blog-jay, Evorgleb will get that posted for you.
