Three killed in two afternoon shootings in New Orleans

Three men were shot to death in the span of two hours this afternoon in two separate incidents in New Orleans.

First, two New Orleans men were shot to death in a vehicle Uptown. Travain Jones, 20, died on the scene, and Bryant Langston, 17, died shortly afterward at University Hospital, according to Orleans Parish chief coroner's investigator John Gagliano. Langston was three weeks shy of his 18th birthday.

Cops nab carjackers - Two arrested in connection with slew of weekend crimes

Two 18-year-old Queens residents were responsible for the cross-community havoc caused in both Marine Park and Canarsie last week, officials alleged.

Police alleged that Lashawn Boyer and Shamiya Brown were responsible for the carjacking that led to a police chase into Canarsie, where the two and an unapprehended other man sparked a hostage drama in a home on East 99th Street.

St. Louis thug fires at officers, hits himself in the head

A man whom police alleged shot himself accidentally after a struggle with offficers Thursday night at Interstate 70 and Lucas & Hunt Road died about 9:40 p.m. Friday at an area hospital.

St. Louis County police identified the man this morning as Tyrone Hart Jr., 23, of the 10400 block of Balmoral Drive in Glasgow Village.

Bond set at $2 million for alleged killer of clerk; accomplice’s bond set at $500,000

Bond was set at $2 million during an arraignment Friday morning for the 22-year-old man charged in connection with the robbery and killing of a BP gas station clerk Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Anthony Belton, of 934 Cuthbert Rd., was charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, both with gun specifications.

Officer charged in death of Tasered man

(CNN) -- A Louisiana grand jury indicted a former police officer on a manslaughter charge in the death of a man who was Tasered nine times while handcuffed, prosecutors said Wednesday. Scott Nugent also was charged with felony criminal malfeasance in connection with the January death of Baron "Scooter" Pikes.
