World's Largest Confederate Flying in Tampa



The Sons of Confederate Veterans are planning to put up a Confederate Flag the size of a semi-trailer.



At 30 feet high and 50 feet long, it will sit atop a 139-foot pole on private property and fly above a major freeway in Tampa, Florida. Of course, this Transformer sized Stars and Bars is causing great upset among black residents and others who care about the feelings or opinions of the local African American community.

FUGITIVE CAUGHT AFTER SKIPPING BAIL IN INFANT MURDER CASE

Study: Minn. ranks at bottom for black graduation rate

A new study of nationwide graduation rates shows Minnesota now ranks last among the states for the percent of black students that get high school diplomas.



St. Paul, Minn. — Diplomas Count is the name of an annual report issued by Education Week, the nation's leading education news journal. It has been analyzing graduation rates state by state since 2002.

A Columbia journalism student will tell jurors on Friday how a sadist turned her Manhattan apartment into a "torture chamber" where she was raped, disfigured and nearly blinded.

Two shot dead at Phila. parochial school

A double shooting at a Catholic elementary school early this morning left a man and a woman dead before dawn.

3 shot in night of violence for StL



UPDATED, 10:30 a.m.



A motorist was shot and critically wounded early today in St. Louis, the last of three shootings in a three-hour period.



The driver, 19, was being fired upon near Wells and Arlington avenues about 3 a.m. today. He was shot several times before crashing his car. The young man is expected to die, and St. Louis homicide detectives were called in.

Atlanta rapper T.I. continues his growing list of big movie roles as he has just signed a three-picture deal with Sony's Screen Gems.
