Father Charged in Death of 3 Month-Old Girl



MEMPHIS, TN – Police say a father has been charged with First Degree Murder after his 3 month-old daughter died from head injuries.



According to investigators, officers were called to the Highland Creek Apartments in the 1300 block of Elmview, Monday, August 18, 2008, around 9:00 p.m., about a baby who was not breathing. When police arrived on the scene, they found 3 month-old Jalissa Fuller dead in an upstairs bedroom.

ACTOR JULIUS "SHO'NUFF" CARRY III DIES: The Last Dragon's Shogun of Harlem passed away Tuesday at age 56.

*Actor Julius Carry III, best known as the villain Sho'Nuff from the 1985 film "The Last Dragon," died on Aug. 19 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56.

Reggae singer Eek-A-Mouse accused of rape in Kill Devil Hills

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C.

Pioneering Ohio Congresswoman Dies of Aneurysm While Driving

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, 58, who was the first black woman elected to Congress in the state of Ohio, died Wednesday after suffering an aneurysm while driving her car. She was 58.

LEVI LEE and Bryson Mills arrived on the doorstep of the Daily News last week looking bruised and battered.

Cops nab carjackers - Two arrested in connection with slew of weekend crimes

Two 18-year-old Queens residents were responsible for the cross-community havoc caused in both Marine Park and Canarsie last week, officials alleged.

Bond set at $2 million for alleged killer of clerk; accomplice’s bond set at $500,000

Bond was set at $2 million during an arraignment Friday morning for the 22-year-old man charged in connection with the robbery and killing of a BP gas station clerk Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Officer charged in death of Tasered man

(CNN) -- A Louisiana grand jury indicted a former police officer on a manslaughter charge in the death of a man who was Tasered nine times while handcuffed, prosecutors said Wednesday. $20 Million of Marijuana Discovered In Two-County Operation

Man sought in death of Enfield woman

Hartford (WTNH) -- Police are looking for an Enfield man who they say kidnapped and murdered his ex-girlfriend.

Darryl "Red" Crenshaw, 25, is wanted in Hartford for the kidnapping and assault of Ashley Peoples. Peoples was reported missing by her family last week and was last seen with Crenshaw in Hartford.

Fort Worth man accused of killing Bedford store clerk faces death penalty if convicted

FORT WORTH — Jeff and Theodis Dodson entered D&S Food Mart in Bedford last year, walked around the store, then strolled up to the counter, one of the brothers carrying a can of beer, according to arrest warrant affidavits and store surveillance video.

Murder rate in Chicago up 18 percent over 7-month period of 2007

Sixty-two slayings in July, police source says Violent crime continued to rise in Chicago after a deadly July in which 62 people were killed, according to unofficial numbers provided by a police source.

For the first seven months of 2008, murders rose by 18 percent over the same period in 2007 and by 9 percent for the same period in 2006. According to internal police data, 291 people were killed from January through July, up from 246 in 2007 and 266 in 2006.
