Suspect arrested in murder on North Prieur ; 3 others sought in slayings

New Orleans homicide detectives on Friday arrested one suspect in connection to a July slaying and publicly identified three others wanted in different cases.

Defendant in 20-year-old murder case found guilty

A construction worker who confessed last year to killing his best friend's wife in 1988 and then recanted from the witness stand this week was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder.

Phila. police seek man who used murder victim’s credit card

Homicide investigators are looking for a man who used a slain robbery victim's credit card to buy three baseball caps an hour after the killing at a store just four blocks away from the crime scene in West Philadelphia.

Local star athlete charged with murder

MANATEE -- Timothy Brooks, a promising Lakewood Ranch High School football star, was behind bars Monday, arrested on a murder charge leaving many that know him stunned.

Teenager arrested in Good Samaritan's murder

Indianapolis - Metro police have arrested in a teenager in the murder case of Mario Gonzalez-Tello.

Gonzalez-Tello, 72, was trying to defend a friend who was being robbed. In the process, police believe Dominique Staten, 16, shot and killed Gonzalez-Tello. The incident occurred on June 20th in the 5300 block of West 38th Street.

Man gets up to 26 years for attempted MPD murder

An Oakdale man was sentenced up to 26 years in prison Tuesday afternoon, for the attempted murder of a Minneapolis Police officer. In November, 34-year-old Israel Anderson shot Officer Daniel Grosland in the ankle. Grosland was trying to break up a fight in a downtown parking lot.

Baytown teen charged with capital murder in son's death

Authorities on Thursday took the rare step of filing a capital murder charge against a 14-year-old girl, whose newborn son died after being submerged in a Baytown school toilet and having toilet paper stuffed down his throat.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office has not decided whether the girl should be certified to stand trial as an adult. If so, she could receive a life sentence without the possibility of release if convicted.

Man convicted of murder in Westfield player's death

A Houston man was convicted of murder Thursday in the shooting death of a high school football star last year.

Emile "Rusty" Anthony Lewis, 20, showed little emotion as state District Judge Mike Anderson announced the jury's verdict.
