Man convicted of murder in Westfield player's death

A Houston man was convicted of murder Thursday in the shooting death of a high school football star last year.

Emile "Rusty" Anthony Lewis, 20, showed little emotion as state District Judge Mike Anderson announced the jury's verdict.

Teen killed, 3 injured in drive-by shooting on South Side

A 17-year-old boy was killed and three men injured Monday night when four males in a van opened fire on them in an apparently gang-related drive-by on the South Side.

About 7:20 p.m., the four men were walking in the 6800 block of South Indiana Avenue when four men in a newer model silver van began shooting, according to police News Affairs Officer David Banks.

2 sentenced in gang rape, prostitution of girl

Prison cells await two more people who have been sentenced for their roles in the 2005 gang rape and prostitution of a 15-year-old El Mirage girl.

Ryan Lia Rasmussen, 29, also known as "Hawaiian Ryan," and Mark Anthony Grayned, 22, both of Phoenix, will join four other people who have been imprisoned in the case.

Bangas kill teen in Chicago funeral procession

A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Monday afternoon during an apparent gang-related attack on a funeral procession on Chicago's Southwest Side, an incident that briefly led authorities to lock down the hospital where the victim was taken for fear of more gang violence.

Brooklyn teen killed in mob beatdown

The family and friends of a 19-year-old Brooklyn student who was beaten to death in East Flatbush by a group of ten men are calling for justice.

Three teens will face trial in Mt. Clemens beating

Three teenagers will face trial in the brutal beating of a motorist earlier this month on North River Road in Mt. Clemens, a Macomb County district judge ruled this afternoon.

Fredricks Smith to spend life in jail for drive-by death of Darryl Lance Weaver Jr.

Investigators Arrest 39 Suspects in Drug Ring, Search for Two More

KSDK -- Investigators from several agencies arrested nine additional people on Monday as part of a round-up of 39 suspects in a crack cocaine ring.



Investigators said they were still looking for suspects Eddie Jackson, 53, and Jewel Allen, 31, both from St. Louis.



The suspects are accused of distributing multiple kilos of cocaine and crack cocaine in the St. Louis area between August 2006 and June 2007.

Six charged in Germantown home invasion



Jeremy J. Munson, 19, Curtis E. Hayes, 29, Jeremiah Hoskins, 20, Robert L. Gilliam, 47, Calvin White, 39 and Cameron White, 31, all of Memphis, face charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and evading arrest.

Cop charged with raping prisoner in squad car

An Atlanta police officer was indicted Friday on charges he sexually assaulted a woman in the back of his patrol car while on duty in July 2004, authorities said.
