Family get $450k home free, lose it in foreclosure

Things couldn't have looked better three years ago for Milton and Patricia Harper of Lake City, who giddily accepted the keys to a small castle, plus enough money to pay taxes on it for 25 years.

Cops cuff home invading thugs

AUBURN - Police surrounded a cluster of buildings in the New Auburn neighborhood Thursday after shots were fired near the intersection of Broad and Third streets.

No one was hurt in the home invasion but witnesses said two teenagers chased a third man out of a building, firing from an assault rifle as they ran.

Camden man shot dead in street on way home from work

The gunshot sounded like thunder at first, but it was enough to wake Juanita Wiggins early Thursday morning. When she looked out the window of her Sycamore Street rowhouse in South Camden, she saw someone lying on the ground.

The she heard it.

"Someone yelled my name, 'Nita, Nita.' I thought, 'Oh my god, it's Kevin,' " she said.

Six charged in Germantown home invasion

Jeremy J. Munson, 19, Curtis E. Hayes, 29, Jeremiah Hoskins, 20, Robert L. Gilliam, 47, Calvin White, 39 and Cameron White, 31, all of Memphis, face charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and evading arrest.

Five of the men were taken into custody in North Memphis Thursday morning, and one other suspect was arrested overnight.

Police are still searching for one suspect.
