Officer charged in death of Tasered man

(CNN) -- A Louisiana grand jury indicted a former police officer on a manslaughter charge in the death of a man who was Tasered nine times while handcuffed, prosecutors said Wednesday. Scott Nugent also was charged with felony criminal malfeasance in connection with the January death of Baron "Scooter" Pikes.

Man sought in death of Enfield woman

Hartford (WTNH) -- Police are looking for an Enfield man who they say kidnapped and murdered his ex-girlfriend.

Darryl "Red" Crenshaw, 25, is wanted in Hartford for the kidnapping and assault of Ashley Peoples. Peoples was reported missing by her family last week and was last seen with Crenshaw in Hartford.

Fort Worth man accused of killing Bedford store clerk faces death penalty if convicted

FORT WORTH — Jeff and Theodis Dodson entered D&S Food Mart in Bedford last year, walked around the store, then strolled up to the counter, one of the brothers carrying a can of beer, according to arrest warrant affidavits and store surveillance video.

Social workers, parents charged in starvation death of teen

Two Philadelphia social workers were among nine charged yesterday in the death of a Danieal Kelly, a 14-year-old girl who starved to death in 2006, her body eaten by bed sores to the bone.

A 20-year-old man, out on bond on a charge of second-degree murder, will be arraigned today on a first-degree murder charge in the death of his 2-year-old daughter.

Man is charged with beating man to death with a brick

Police yesterday arrested the man they said beat to death a 38-year-old landscaper with seven children last week in West Philadelphia and then made off with the victim's wallet.

After two reprieves, Sonnier due for death chamber

A condemned Louisiana native once again is set to enter Texas' death chamber on Wednesday evening for two 1991 murders.

Police charge grandson in death of popular Memphis deejay

Memphis police have arrested the grandson of a popular deejay killed Wednesday, charging him with first-degree murder.

Dee “Cap’n Pete” Henderson, who hosted a blues show on WEVL for 26 years, was found shot to death in the backyard of his home at 1040 Fields Wednesday morning. He was 72.

Man arrested in death of 4-year-old son

A Tulsa man was arrested on a child abuse complaint after his son was found dead in their home Tuesday.



Police believe that Terry Lamar Green, 25, waited too long to call 911 for 4-year-old Keyshawn Markham, according to an arrest report.

A 3-year-old boy was crushed to death Friday evening by a large, rusted steel gate at the Cabrini-Green housing complex, prompting a crowd to gather and hurl accusations of mismanagement at property managers.

Baytown teen charged with capital murder in son's death

Authorities on Thursday took the rare step of filing a capital murder charge against a 14-year-old girl, whose newborn son died after being submerged in a Baytown school toilet and having toilet paper stuffed down his throat.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office has not decided whether the girl should be certified to stand trial as an adult. If so, she could receive a life sentence without the possibility of release if convicted.

Man convicted of murder in Westfield player's death
