Michael D. Taylor was too young for a death sentence when he raped and murdered a classmate at McCluer North High School in 1995, but later went to death row for a prison killing.
On Tuesday, a divided Missouri Supreme Court ordered a new sentencing hearing in the capital case, with a new set of jurors.
Writing for the majority, Chief Justice Laura Denvir Stith said that prosecutors failed to provide the defense with evidence that…

New York—Brooklyn was definitely in the building.
Young Jeezy performed at the Blender Theater in Manhattan last night and the out of towner treated the Big Apple crowd to a treat.
Da Snowman welcomed Fabolous (”Breathe”) and Maino (”Hi Hater”) on stage to perform with him. But the capacity crowd really went crazy when Jeezy asked them to put their lighters up and out from backstage came Lil Kim.
The pint-sized rapper–in…

Michael Phelps’ run at the Olympics — eight gold medals, seven broken world records — is unprecedented, and according to Phelps he couldn’t have done it without Young Jeezy. Phelps typically listened to the Jeezy/R. Kelly collaboration “Go Getta” before hitting the pool, which Jeezy himself doesn’t find surprising. “All my music is inspirational,” he told Rolling Stone’s Evan Serpick. “You just gotta listen to the words and get what you can get out of…

Young Jeezy recently checked in with Rolling Stone from Miami, where he’s shooting the video for “Vacation,” the second single from his forthcoming album The Recession, out September 2nd. “I’m having a fuckin’ ball,” he says. “I’m on a jet ski, I’m on the beach — we’re wildin’ out.” He may be having fun now, but on the album, Jeezy (a.k.a. the Snowman) tackles the economy, politics and the struggles of poverty.
On the opening track, “The…

Gas prices are going up, but Young Jeezy sure can afford a gallon. Interestingly, the trapper, who usually leans more towards drugs tales than social commentary, titled his third solo album, The Recession to mixed responses. On one hand, fans are applauding Jeezy for addressing the common man’s struggle. On the other hand, skeptics think Jeezy, a millionaire who isn’t subjected to company-wide layoffs, is using the country’s bad economy as a marketing…

NEW YORK — "Mr. 17.5" is now "Mr. September 2." Young Jeezy joked Monday night that he's changing his nickname until his upcoming album, The Recession, drops.
He held a small listening session for his third LP at Katra Lounge. He's upgraded himself lyrically and spread himself out thematically, while the beats have a sinister, "Dark Knight"-like edge to them.
On "Vacation," he talks about going home to get back to reality and feeling…

An Engleside man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
Detectives arrested Timothy Champion, 30, after the child told family members what happened. Police say the victim was playing with a friend and Champion at an Engleside-area home. At some point, police say, he held the girl down, kissed her and touched her inappropriately.
Police took Champion to the Fairfax County (web|news) Adult Detention…
