TAMPA - A community kickball coach is accused of raping a 21-year-old kickball player and threatening her not to tell anyone, Tampa police said.

Andre Javon Newton, 26, of 5618 Ashmont Court, Apartment B, was held without bail at Orient Road Jail this morning. Police arrested him Tuesday on warrants charging him with felony sexual battery and felony witness tampering.

PITTSBURGH -- Two West Virginia University basketball players are accused of scuffling with police and underage drinking after an altercation at a Pittsburgh Pirates game.

Joe Mazzulla and Cameron Thoroughman were arrested Monday at PNC Park, where the Pirates were playing the Colorado Rockies.
