Hot 107.9 Morning Show let go?

I have just received word from a confidential source at Hot 107.9 that the A-Team Morning show was abruptly let go today.

Word is comedian Rickey Smiley has been installed as the new Morning show host at Hot 107.9. That is sad news, but the new Arbitron Portable People Meter (PPM) has every radio programmer in Atlanta shook.

Pair convicted for murder of 1-year-old girl in South Norfolk

A Chesapeake jury convicted two men this afternoon of murder and other charges in the death of a 1-year-old girl during a home invasion.

LR Police Search for Suspect in McDonald's Shooting

Police are looking for a man who reportedly assaulted the mother of his children in a parking lot, then shot a McDonald's employee who attempted to break up the fight.

Police say 22-year-old Nigel Haskell was shot in the upper torso when he tried to help out a woman who was being attacked by 27-year-old Perry Kennon of Conway.

Ice Cube Debuts At Number Five On Billboard 200

The Don Mega debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 after pushing almost 70,000 copies of his latest independent project, Raw Footage.

ANOTHER TYLER PERRY PROJECT 'MEETS' TBS: Network orders 10 episodes of sitcom based on 'Meet the Browns.'

'*A television version of Tyler Perry's play and film "Meet the Browns" is headed to TBS early next year.

Three Charged in Shooting Death of Teen in Horn Lake, Mississippi

Horn Lake, MS -- Three people are in jail accused of killing a Horn Lake, MS teen. Police say two of the accused killers are teenagers.

UPDATE: Two Charged in Credit Union Robbery

Charleston Police say they arrested and charged Shawn Elmore of Alabama with robbery. His girlfriend, Charlene Bowman, was allegedly driving the getaway car and has also been taken into custody.

Elmore is originally from Alabama, but was staying with some friends at Orchard Manor.
