After two reprieves, Sonnier due for death chamber

A condemned Louisiana native once again is set to enter Texas' death chamber on Wednesday evening for two 1991 murders.

Derrick Sonnier, 40, has received two reprieves — the most recent one six weeks ago when the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted a stay just minutes before his sentence was to be carried out.

Teen survives, but his 15-year-old cousin dies from gunshot wounds

Teacher's family grieves her violent death

Genai Coleman, the 40-year-old Snellville pre-school teacher killed Friday near Gwinnett Place mall, will be taken back to her Indiana home for a funeral in her family church Monday.

Man accused in gang rape in East Austin

Austin police arrested a man accused in the gang rape of a woman. A woman told investigators she was given some sort of date rape drug Friday night and then assaulted by about 10 men at a house in East Austin.

A neighbor called police Saturday morning when the woman showed up partially-clothed and crying.



Police say Robert Delone Scott, 35, was found next door with the victim's ID in his pocket.

Aspiring Oakland Rapper Shot To Death

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Aspiring Oakland rapper Bobby Hall Jr., who spoke out against violence, was shot to death Saturday inside a Oakland home. He is the second person in his family to be killed by violence.

16-Year-Olds Rob Pizza Delivery Drivers - Because Gun Was Used, Teens Being Charged As Adults

Two 16-year-old Brunswick residents are each charged with two counts of armed robbery after an investigation into the holdups of pizza delivery persons this month.

F.B.I. Identifies Suspect in Anniston Bank Robbery

ANNISTON, Ala. --- The F.B.I. is identifying 20 year old Gabriel Dewayne Rice as a suspect in Wednesday’s Anniston bank robbery.

Rice accused of robbing the Wachovia Bank on Bill Robinson Parkway around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with another suspect.

Woman in W.Pa. baby mystery charged with homicide

Andrea Curry-Demus, 38, of Wilkinsburg, is charged in the death of Kia Johnson, 18, of McKeesport. Curry-Demus is accused of taking the baby boy to a Pittsburgh hospital and claiming it was her own.

Johnson's body was found Friday in Curry-Demus's apartment. The body was positively identified through dental records, Allegheny County Medical Examiner Karl Williams said Sunday.

It's the law: No sagging pants in Chicago suburb

Be careful if you have saggy pants in the south Chicago suburb of Lynwood. Village leaders have passed an ordinance that would levy $25 fines against anyone showing three inches or more of their underwear in public.
