Kanye West apparently has a new mortgage on his hands. TMZ reports ‘Ye must fork up $600,000 to an Illinois trust company to pay off the mortgage on his late mother’s condo. Man arrested in St. John double shooting in Garyville

Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a shooting in Garyville on Thursday that left one man dead and another hospitalized.

Baytown teen charged with capital murder in son's death

Authorities on Thursday took the rare step of filing a capital murder charge against a 14-year-old girl, whose newborn son died after being submerged in a Baytown school toilet and having toilet paper stuffed down his throat.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office has not decided whether the girl should be certified to stand trial as an adult. If so, she could receive a life sentence without the possibility of release if convicted.

A man who killed a store owner by sawing at his neck with a pocketknife during a 1997 robbery became the 100th person executed in Virginia since capital punishment was reinstated three decades ago.
