christmas time for ur sales is always best to drop. thats why def jam pushed back ross album they knew he was gonna sell but for jeezy to drop around christmas time would help him out alot. especially since nothing else was coming out at that time. dont forget they did the whoole publicity stunt jeezy trnna fake beefs n shit when hes really has no issue wit ross. n jeezy been had his fanbase. ross never had a fanbase like that because how he came into the game wit this cocaine brick shit. jeezy was more commerical when they started out ross wasnt commercial like that he kept it street. nooow since deeper than rap n shit ross started getting more lyrical n doing songs for the radio more. thats prob why some of u trap listeners dont like the album cause its all hip hop

So you saying def jam treated a multi platinum artist like a charity case by trying to position him to sell more albums? Wow. How was Jeezy commercial? And I don't think the situation with Ross and Jeezy was a "fake beef." It was more like hey, you're speaking on my people and it ain't cool when you don't know them and your whole image is fabricated. I think he was saying I don't appreciate it and kept it moving. But as far as being a trap listener, that's not me. I just like music with substance and something I can relate to. I think the "trap listeners" these days are the Waka Flocka and company fan base and I can't stand that crap because it makes too many kids I know feel it's ok to be stupid and dumb. But to each his own. For me, I'm riding with Jeezy because I feel his music and I've seen the situations he raps. We are in a modern day MMG (Bad Boy) vs Deathrow (CTE) era. Wanna be Biggie (Ross) vs Jeezy (Tupac). And I was Deathrow and Tupac then.

he should have sold atleast three fifty with his buzz hell lupe fiasco did 220,000 j cole did 217,000 you aint said shit bruh supa freak n leave you alone came out after the album dropped it aint cool to hate like dat

Get your lame ass off this site

fuck u pussy nigga

I wasn't even talking to u cuz but watch your mouth

lol

my bad im man enough to say that you was just rite up under me

nigga aint def jam who say 2 ross not to drop in december... it wasnt just feeling ok for ross 2 drop..and he did re do the album if he would drop the album back in december he would flop as fuck

Talking bout promotion.....jeezy had lose my mind....he was promoting 103 two yrs ago on TOD2....then dropped like 4 more tapes after that...hood album got pushed back over nd over...which led to more anticipation....there was more of a want for 103 then GFID....bcuz jeezy ain't drop an album in 3 yrs...also far as promo....I remember jeezy had that movie that was actually being shown...in the movies somewhere....niggas had the 103 cover on bags of popcorn....that's hella promotion.....which I always thought was a good thing....ross is just cool to hate nowadays....sum 1 said he shouldve sold 350k.....lmfao....WTT sold 500k......no way ross doing 150k less then two legends....not in the first week...fuck no
The promoting that you were speaking of was Jeezy SELF promoting. That wasn't backed by def jam. NO WAY, def jam and sites backed him like they did Ross. That movie was being shown one night to a few bloggers and writers that Jeezy invited. It wasn't in rotation in a theater. The DVD just came with the album and the popcorn bags were for THAT night. But most of that promotion was Jeezy keeping his name out there with mixtapes and saying "TM103 on the way." And no, Ross is not on the level of Kanye, Jay or WTT, but that's the plateau that they're trying to push him to. And they failed to do that. He's good and all my dude, but he has the industry behind him big time and his numbers have yet to produce that "elite" status.
He has the industry and not the streets.
